Workington is one of the few ports in the area with the facilities for specialist traffic such as project cargoes and heavy lifts. The port’s ro-ro ramp has seen the shipment of a number of difficult loads and is regularly used by local industries for large and heavy cargoes. In addition, the port has cranes offering a heavy lift capability.
